The programme

MedAligna shift alerts are text messages sent by MedAligna, a staff scheduling service operated by Lunastric LLC, to people whose employer schedules their work in MedAligna. They are about that person's own work: an open shift they can pick up, a change to a shift they are on, and an urgent request to cover a shift.

They are never marketing. We do not text you offers, and we do not text anybody who has not opted in.

How you opt in

Only you can opt in, and only for your own number. Your employer can add your phone number to the roster, but that does not sign you up for texts. You opt in yourself, after signing in, on the Notifications screen or on your first-steps checklist, by entering your mobile number and ticking a box that starts unticked. It reads:

“Text me about my shifts at this number. By ticking this box you agree to receive text messages from MedAligna about your shifts: open shifts you can pick up, changes to your schedule, and urgent requests to cover a shift. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of employment.”

Your consent is for that number. If the number changes, texts stop until you opt in again. This is how the box looks on the Notifications screen:

How often, and what it costs

Message frequency varies with your schedule: usually a few messages a week, more when your workplace is short-staffed. Message and data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan. MedAligna does not charge you for texts.

What the messages look like

“MedAligna: Cover needed. Night shift tonight 19:00-07:00 at Riverside ICU. Open the app to take it. Reply STOP to opt out.”

“MedAligna: Your shift on Tue 11/4 changed to 07:00-15:00. See your schedule in the app. Reply STOP to opt out.”

Opting out, and help

Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts. You will receive one message confirming that you have opted out, and nothing after it. You can also untick the box on the Notifications screen. Reply START to opt back in.

Reply HELP for help, or write to helen@medicalstaffscheduling.com.
