What to do in your first week

The shortest path from an empty account to a published schedule.

For owners, admins and schedulers

The order that works

Most of this product has no controls until it has data, so the order matters more than it looks. The dashboard shows you the same list until each step is done.

  1. Add your site under Settings → Organisation. If you run more than one building, add them all now — a location owns its own timezone, and that timezone is what decides which day a night shift belongs to.
  2. Add the roles you schedule (RN, LPN, CNA, and so on) under Roles. Nothing can be assigned to a shift until a role exists to assign.
  3. Add your staff. Type them in, or paste a spreadsheet into Staff → Import, which previews every row and tells you what it could not read before writing anything.
  4. Set your work rules — maximum hours, minimum rest between shifts, consecutive days. These are what the system refuses on, so it is worth being honest rather than aspirational.
  5. Plan a week from the schedule screen, then publish it.

Invite people once the schedule is real

Staff get a lot more use out of an invitation that lands on a published week than one that lands on an empty grid. Invite from Settings → Team; they set their own password and see only their own shifts.

In the app this lives at /app.
