Planning and publishing a week

How a draft becomes a schedule your staff can see.

For owners, admins and schedulers

Plan first, publish second

A planned week is yours alone. Nobody is notified, nothing appears on anybody's phone, and you can move things around freely.

Publishing is the moment it becomes real: staff see their shifts, and changes after that point notify the people affected.

  1. Open Schedule and choose New week, or use a rotation you have already built.
  2. Pick the roles and how many of each you need per shift.
  3. Preview — this shows what would be created before anything is.
  4. Create the shifts, fill them, then press Publish.

What happens to a published week when you change it

Nothing is retroactively enforced. If you tighten a work rule on Thursday, the week you published on Monday stays exactly as it is — the rules apply when somebody is assigned, not continuously.

In the app this lives at /app/schedule.
