Adding holidays and closed days
The US federal holidays in one click, your own on top, and the days you are shut.
For owners, admins and schedulers
The quick way
Open Settings → Holidays & closures and press 'Add the 11 US federal holidays' for this year (there is a second button for next year). That adds New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, each on its real date. Pressing it twice never adds a second copy. Remove any you do not observe from the list.
For anything else — Christmas Eve, the day after Thanksgiving — type a name and pick a date under 'Or add one of your own'. Only an owner or an admin can change the calendar.
What marking a holiday does
It moves nobody: somebody still works Christmas. It starts a holiday record, so 'Who worked it' beside each holiday shows everyone who was on that day, every year, and the call rota hands holiday turns to whoever has worked the fewest. Any premium you set is used only for the labour estimate on the schedule; it is never written into an hours export and never becomes a pay figure.
Closed days are different
A closed day is a day a site does not open. Add it under Closed days on the same screen, for one site or every site. Plan a week and Repeat last week then leave those days out and say so. Shifts already on the schedule are not touched, and nobody's holiday record counts a closed day.
In the app this lives at /app/settings/holidays.
